Pride and Prejudice | 1 | 2020 Countdown

Welcome to Day 24 of my 2020 Book Spotlight Countdown! And, even more exciting, the reveal of my favourite book of 2020! I bet absolutely nobody who follows me is surprised by this revelation… For more information about this series, please read my introductory post here. Today, I’m celebrating Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen!

1st of 2020

It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single man in possession of a good fortune, must be in want of a wife. So goes one of the most famous books in the English canon. Elizabeth Bennet is coming of age, and trying to navigate her way to marriage. One problem: the eligible bachelors are either unbearably irritating, are interested in one of her four sisters, or believe themselves to be above her. And Elizabeth won’t settle. In Pride and Prejudice, Jane Austen paints a glorious picture of 18th Century gentry, life, and relationships.
