OMG! That Song Book Tag

Today I’m bringing you yet another book tag! This time, I was tagged by Danni @ ForBooksSake, and the tag is the OMG! That Song Book Tag. I’m really excited to do this one, because it seems a bit different to your standard book tag. Thank you for the tag, Danni, and thank you to Katie @ KatesBookDate on YouTube for starting the tag!

My Jam:

A song you have to listen to no matter how many times you’ve heard it before
and
A book you’ll never get sick of

One of my favourite songs to come on in a club is, cheesy as it might be, Mamma Mia by ABBA. Absolute classic! And for the book, I’m going for Rebecca by Daphne du Maurier.

Throwback:

A song that reminds you of the cringiest time in your life
and
A book you read that you wouldn’t like if you were to read it now

Like Danni, I used to be a big JLS fan. This is a throwback to my preteen years, so pretty cringey. I’ll pick Eyes Wide Shut as that was my favourite song by them! For the book, that could be pretty much any YA that I read around 2016. Take your pick of almost any of those famous YA books from that period.

Replay:

A recent song that you have on repeat
and
A recent favourite book

And the answer to the question of how long it’d take me to mention Taylor Swift is… this long! champagne problems by Taylor Swift. As for my recent favourite book, I’m going to pick The White Book by Han Kang.

Gets Me:

A song that is literally me
and
A book that is me in book form

OK, not too sure on this? What does this actually mean?

Wut:

A weird song that you liked anyway
and
A unique book that stuck out to you for some reason

I like this one! I have to say I’m not entirely sure what makes a song weird, but I assume that In The Aeroplane over the Sea by Neutral Milk Hotel probably fits the bill. There are lots of potential candidates for the unique book, but I think I’m going to go for another Han Kang book, The Vegetarian.

Let’s Go:

Pick your best pump up song
and
A book that inspires you

At the minute, it’s Good as Hell by Lizzo. A book that inspires me is a tricky one! I’m going to pick Exciting Times by Noaise Dolan because it’s really given me the travel bug. Not that we can travel right now, but it’s made me feel much more adventurous about travelling.

Chill:

Your best relaxing song
and
A book you’d curl up with on a rainy day

I like Sleeping at Last! Their Space album in particular. Not a single song I know, but the whole album is so relaxing. For the book I’d curl up with on a rainy day, I’m saying Ducks, Newburyport. It’s so big I feel like I need a rainy day to make a good dent in it!

Addicting:

A guilty pleasure song
and
A light, trashy read you can’t help but love

OK, I can’t think of anything for either of these!

Nostalgia:

A throwback song you look back on fondly
and
A book you read and loved when you were young

Love Story by Taylor Swift! Yes, I had to get a second mention in there. For the book I loved when I was young, there are so many options! I used to love the Rainbow Fairies series.
